Centre Foundation is pleased to announce the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors: Rev. Dr. Anne K. Ard, Alex Fletcher, Mark Rigby, and Mick Trombley. Their diverse professional backgrounds, leadership experience, and deep connections to Centre County will help guide the Foundation as it continues to foster a culture of giving, support and empower nonprofits, and catalyze positive community change.

Rev. Dr. Anne K. Ard,
Retired, Former Executive Director, Centre Safe
Rev. Dr. Anne K. Ard retired in September 2022 after 25 years as Executive Director of Centre Safe, Centre County’s domestic violence shelter and rape crisis center. During her tenure, she provided leadership locally and statewide and became widely recognized for her advocacy for victims of domestic and sexual violence.
Anne was appointed to the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency by Governor Ed Rendell in 2007 and reappointed by Governor Tom Wolf in 2019. She served as Chair of the Victims Services Advisory Committee and held board positions with the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Rape and the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence. She was also appointed to the Pennsylvania Commission for Women and chaired the Centre County Domestic and Sexual Violence Task Force.
Earlier in her career, Anne served in Penn State’s Office of Educational Equity and as a campus minister. She holds degrees from Centenary College, McCormick Theological Seminary, and Penn State.
Alex Fletcher,
Partner at Frost & Conn Insurance Agency
Alex Fletcher was born and raised in State College and is a graduate of State College Area High School and the United States Naval Academy. After graduating from the Academy, he served more than a decade as a Naval Officer and Strike Fighter Pilot, flying F/A-18 aircraft and leading teams in high-performance, mission-driven environments. His military career instilled in him a deep commitment to leadership, accountability, and service.
Following his service, Alex returned home to Centre County and joined Frost & Conn Insurance Agency, where he is now a fourth-generation leader of the firm. In this role, he works closely with individuals, families, and businesses to help them manage risk and plan for the future.
Alex and his wife, Alicia, live in Boalsburg. Deeply rooted in the community, he is committed to giving back and is proud to support Centre Foundation’s efforts to strengthen local nonprofits and initiatives.
Mark Rigby,
Independent consultant
Mark Rigby is a graduate of State College Area High School and Penn State University, bringing more than 40 years of experience across the energy and industrial sectors. Over the course of his career, he has built deep expertise in financial strategy, operational leadership, and energy market transformation. He currently provides advisory services to companies in the energy and environmental industries, with a particular focus on the transition to renewable and lower-carbon energy solutions.
Mark began his professional career as a certified public accountant with KPMG, where he developed a strong foundation in financial management and corporate governance. He later held senior leadership roles at Air Products and Chemicals and DTE Energy, contributing to large-scale energy and infrastructure initiatives. He is currently affiliated with Stillwater Associates.
In addition to his corporate work, Mark recently concluded service on the executive board and as treasurer of North Star Reach, a nonprofit camp serving seriously ill children and their families. Although he has long resided in Ann Arbor, Michigan, Mark continues to consider State College his hometown.
Mick Trombley,
Attorney and Founder, Trombley Real Estate
Mick Trombley has been a Centre County resident for 37 years. He is married to Cheryl Trombley and has two adult children, Erika and Luke. Mick has worked in commercial real estate throughout his time in State College and has operated Trombley Real Estate for the past 16 years. He is an attorney and holds the Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) designation.
Mick is also actively involved in promoting positive fathering, contributing to an article that has run regularly in the Centre Daily Times for 25 years and has recently expanded to the Gazette. He looks forward to supporting Centre Foundation’s efforts to strengthen families and communities across the county.
