Centre Gives Returns May 6 & 7, Calling on the Community to Support the Nonprofits That Sustain Centre County

36-hour giving event unites residents across Centre County to support more than 230 local nonprofits

STATE COLLEGE, Pa. — Centre Gives returns May 6 and 7, continuing a tradition that has become one of the most meaningful expressions of community support across Centre County.

For 36 hours, on May 6 & 7 residents from Bald Eagle to Philipsburg, Penns Valley to Bellefonte, and throughout State College and the surrounding communities will come together to support more than 230 local nonprofits via online donations at CentreGives.org.

Each organization plays a role in strengthening the region and helping it thrive. These nonprofits represent the full fabric of the community, including arts and culture, animals, education, environment, health, housing, human services, and youth services. Together, they reflect what it takes to build a place where everyone has the opportunity to flourish.

Since its launch in 2012, Centre Gives has generated more than $22.5 million for local organizations. Over time, it has grown beyond a fundraising event into a shared moment of recognition for the work happening across the county every day.

Nonprofits play a vital role in addressing community needs throughout Centre County that would otherwise go unmet. They respond to challenges, create opportunities, and provide support that strengthens individuals, families, and neighborhoods. Much of this work happens quietly and without recognition, yet it remains essential to the well-being of the community.

Centre Gives offers a moment to respond to that work with equal intention. It is an opportunity for the community to give back, to stand behind these organizations, and to help sustain the impact they deliver year-round.

While a $500,000 stretch pool, supported by Centre Foundation and the Hamer Foundation, will once again increase the overall impact of donations, the focus of Centre Gives remains simple. It is about people supporting the causes that matter to them and strengthening the community in the process.

For many nonprofits, Centre Gives is one of the most important fundraising opportunities of the year. It provides essential funding that supports programs, expands services, and helps organizations meet growing needs across Centre County.
