STATE COLLEGE, PA — Unlike one-time grants, designated funds are one of the most effective ways donors to Centre Foundation create lasting impact in their community. Established to support specific nonprofit organizations over time, these funds provide a steady, reliable source of funding that helps nonprofits plan ahead and sustain their work year after year.
“For our partner organizations throughout Centre County, knowing they can plan on consistent support makes a meaningful difference. It allows them to focus on serving people rather than worrying about future funding. Behind the scenes, Centre Foundation ensures each fund is professionally managed, donor intent is honored, and support reaches the community when it is needed most.” said David Lieb, President & CEO of Centre Foundation.
In the first quarter of 2026, Centre Foundation distributed $776,893.19 through designated funds, delivering consistent, dependable support to nonprofits serving Centre County and surrounding communities. Funds with annual distributions under $10,000 are granted once each April, while funds with larger annual distributions are awarded on a quarterly basis.
These distributions supported a broad range of community needs, including healthcare, food and housing assistance, arts and culture, libraries, youth programs, environmental stewardship, and faith-based initiatives.
